The next Rescue Academy starts  September 22nd. The application process is open! 

The Danville Area Training Center (DATC), at 630 Randolph Street in Danville, has opened the application process for Rescue Academy #9. By the end of the academy, students will obtain certifications in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, Emergency Vehicle Operations Class, Traffic Incident Management Class, Mass Casualty I&II, Vehicle Rescue Awareness & Operations, and Emergency Medical Technician. Classes will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Class times will be 6:00pm - 9:00pm. There will be one weekend class for EVOC. Afterwards, graduates will be able to work or volunteer at any EMS agency in the Commonwealth of Virginia with completed certifications. The next Rescue Academy will begin September 22nd. A tuition of $750, which includes the EMT book, uniform, CPR, online EMS software, and drug screening will be due by the seventh class. There is a required interview as part of the application process. 

 

We are again partnering with Danville Community

College to offer resources that can assist students

with class costs. This will be explained in more detail

during pre-class interviews.
